Last updated 28 June 2026
This policy explains how PartnershipVisa.nz collects, uses, stores and shares your personal information, and your rights under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. PartnershipVisa.nz is operated by MyLaw. By using this site or giving us your details, you agree to this policy.
Who we are
PartnershipVisa.nz is a partnership-visa information service operated by MyLaw (MYL Limited), a New Zealand immigration law firm. We are responsible for the personal information collected through this website. You can contact us about privacy using our contact form.
Information we collect
We collect personal information in two ways:
- Information you give us — such as your name, email address, and details about your relationship, visa situation or enquiry when you use a form, request a checklist or guide, or get in touch.
- Information collected automatically — such as your IP address, device and browser type, the pages you visit, and how you arrived (including referral and campaign information), through cookies and analytics.
Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and a privacy-focused analytics tool (Usermaven) to understand how the site is used and to remember how you first arrived (attribution). You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect how some features work.
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- respond to your enquiry and send you the resource, checklist or information you requested;
- send you helpful updates and guidance about partnership visas, where you have consented to receive them;
- operate, secure and improve the website and our services; and
- where you ask for help with your situation, refer you to MyLaw so a lawyer can provide regulated immigration advice.
Marketing emails
We only send marketing or nurture emails where you have given consent, in line with the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007. Every email includes a clear way to unsubscribe, and we act on unsubscribe requests promptly. You can also email us to opt out at any time.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:
- with MyLaw, the immigration law firm that provides the regulated advice and services this site refers to;
- with trusted service providers who help us run the site and communicate with you — including our email provider (Brevo), website host (Vercel), analytics provider (Usermaven) and database provider (Neon); and
- where we are required or permitted to by law.
Storage and overseas disclosure
Your information may be stored and processed on servers located outside New Zealand by our service providers. Where it is, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is protected by comparable safeguards, consistent with the Privacy Act 2020.
Keeping your information safe
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to keep your information safe.
How long we keep it
We keep your personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as required by law, and then delete or de-identify it.
Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020 you have the right to ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, and to ask us to correct it. To make a request, get in touch using our contact form.
Children
This site is intended for adults and is not directed at children.
